The Board sent the following message to the community. Those interested in the construction plan are encouraged to attend this important meeting. It is not known if the Board will accept any comments by those in attendance.
"Message from Riverdale School Board
New information has come to the Riverdale School Board as a result of an
organized opposition to the Riverdale Grade School construction plan. At
its meeting tomorrow night, the Board will discuss the ramifications of
legal challenges and the resulting impact on the Grade School project.
The public is welcome to attend all Regular Board meetings.

Unfortunately we missed the meeting. However a letter (dated Feb 11th) has deliberately misleading information. The letter says delay in proceeding will cost $200,000 for High School Bond debt and $600,000 for the Grade School design costs coming directly out of the school current operating budget. These 'directly effect Riverdale's educational program by seriously impeding our budget'.
ReplyDeleteLet us be clear and honest, the November bond issue was not assured of passage so these costs should be in the school year budget. Any impediment is due to recent (since November) changes in the budget and not due to any delay.
